Like many AFCB fans, I have been pleased and somewhat amazed at the progress that Ryan Fraser has made during his time at AFCB. It would have been easy for him to have been disappointed last season when he wasn't included in the Premier League squad and was asked to play his football in the Championship at Ipswich. But it seemed to be the making of him and there's been no stopping him this season.
I imagine Gordon Strachan will be able to impart some further excellent ideas into the wee man's ear as Gordon himself was not known for his height on the football pitch, but he was tenacious and a hard tackler who also had a good eye for goal. Strachan was also a winner with Man Utd and it has to be good for Ryan Fraser to be learning from players like Strachan, that can say I have done it and that he has nothing to fear about being part of the full Scottish international set up now.
Fraser is a good listener and I think that is a good part of what makes him so easy to work with. He doesn't over complicate things, but get's his head down and motors. It is what he is good at and there has been no need for Eddie Howe to change that direct approach that Fraser has in his style. What I have seen is better control from Ryan when he is n possession. He carries the ball much better now and not five of 10 yards in front, but closer to his feet and that makes him a far more dangerous winger who can go either way when he gets to the box.
Ryan is also not shy in putting crosses in either these days. He is turning into a good provider of opportunities. Certainly, everybody loves Ryan at AFCB and while he always has a happy nature about himself, I am reckoning that he might have even surprised himself at what he has done this season when he looks back at it in May. He's been absolute quality. Now he'll get to partner Matt Ritchie in a Scottish vest.
