Should Bournemouth be embarrassed about being shot shy against City?

While the Cherries got through against Man City with a bit more respect for the scoreline than in recent matches against the big six, the game did have quite a few poor stats to reflect on. Bournemouth now have the record of the only home team to fail to have a shot during 90 minutes in a Premier League game, even though some teams have also suffered that fate in away games. So was the performance really good enough?
AFCB didn't even register a single shot against Man City.
I felt it was a good attempt to try and win the game. The problem was Bournemouth didn't have the ability to do more than what they did. It might have been different had some more of the regulars been available, but they weren't. Instead AFCb had two oung under 21s in the team and a couple more on the bench. The manager says the idea was not to let City have so much possession, but Bournemouth slipped to just under 18 per cent possession by the end of the game. You don't get many more one sided games than that.

Perhaps Eddie was thinking on how Leicester City had won the league with little possession and hitting on the break? Trying to out smart Guardiola though is very difficult and if Bournemouth were to get anything from the game they really needed to get King more involved. The team didn't get near enough to supporting King and he hardly saw any of the ball.

Bournemouth did get into City's half a few times. When they did so they just couldn't find the space or time to create anything. With the defence now well drilled it is likely to be this creative need that Howe and his players need to focus on before the Huddersfield match.
