The Cherries' goalkeeping position is still up for grabs

It is hardly surprising that the number one spot at the Cherries is not a done deal yet. AFCB have continued to leak goals even if the rate has slowed of late. Adam Federici and Artur Boruc look set to continue their vying for the place, but come January they may be nervously looking to see if a new shot stopper is brought in.
Federici will hope to keep hold of the keeper's jersey.

We have seen how important a great goalkeeper is in the Premier League. Jack Butland has been great for Stoke City and it is certainly helping their defence to have such an in form keeper behind them. Without that security it is much harder for the defence to be confident and they want to see a keeper who is happy to come for crosses and feel confident that if a shot does head towards goal, then they have a keeper that will save more than he lets in.

While Federici and Boruc have been good at pulling out saves when fully stretched, it is often a mundane incident that has seen them struggle and that has led to a goal. It is easier to keep the concentration levels high when you are making one great save after another, but it is quite something else when you know your team is under pressure whenever the ball comes near the box. At this level there are players that can score amazing goals from unbelievable angles and keepers have to be ready to make a save at any second.

Eddie Howe has not shunned away from making changes and he'll have to decide who is his number one if he wants to bring stability to his defence.

Congratulations to Baily Cargill who has moved up to the England U21 squad. Baily is in the squad to play Switzerland in Brighton this evening.
