Keeping the momentum going

They say it's all about momentum and consistency in the Championship. I think staying in contention is all that teams can really concentrate on at this stage of the season,, as you can easily rule yourself out of competing for the top places before January, but as long as a team is positioned in the top half, there is no need to panic that the season will end early for your team.
The race is on now to get ahead of teams in the league.
As we know AFCB are on a run of three wins in a row and I was wondering how hard it is going to be to keep such a run going? Coaches often say it is getting a run started that is the difficult thing and that once you start winning it becomes a habit, and things start to go right for your team. Having looked at the stats for the Championship though, how many teams do you think have won more than three matches in a row this season? The answer is just one! Ipswich Town won four games in a row between 13-27 September 2014. A number of teams have made three games in a row including; Watford, Derby, Wolves, Norwich, Nottingham Forest and Reading.

So it looks like two more wins for the Cherries would set a new record for the Championship this season, but on balance you could say that AFCB are due for a fall or at least a draw - not what us fans really want! The Championship is notoriously hard to keep wins going and we should remember that a few draws along the way are not so damaging to a team's prospects. Derby are unbeaten in 11 league games and it's that kind of consistency that has taken them to the top of the league. Safe journey to all those travelling to the match today UTCIAD!
