Afobe needs more supply for more goals

Benik Afobe has done more than well in his first few games in the Premier League. I believe he could be doing even better though if AFCB's players could be getting the ball to hm more often in the box. He has been feeding off of scraps so far and has had very few chances to really show what he can do.

The Crystal Palace game saw Benik net a goal just by grabbing a rebound off of Matt Ritchie's shot from the edge of the box, but I can't remember too many other shots that Benik had himself that day. Against Sunderland too, Benik scored when fed a difficult cross from Stanislas on the wing, but he watched the bounce and got in front of his defender to head that one in as well. There has not been many balls played up through the middle or just in between the fall backs and centre halves for Benik, and that's an area where I'd like to see Gosling and Arter trying to find Benik more often.
Benik has made the most of the few chances to come his way.
We have not seen Benik be able to shoot from around the edge of the box or by seeing him run at defences on the break too often. Deep crosses from the wings have led to some success, however it would be great to see another striker up alongside Benik soon. That probably depends more on the fitness of Josh King over anything else. If King is able to play 60-70 minutes then it may be a tactic that Eddie Howe could go with at home against Stoke City. Glenn Murray could still be available then to takeover in the last 20 minutes and Benik would be getting more support through the game. It will need Benik and Josh to work extremely hard in helping the midfield which would be a player lighter, but I'd like to see Eddie Howe take the game away from some teams by going for it at home where the team has not won as many matches as it has on the road.

Meanwhile, Benik has been hitting back at Wolves' recruitment chief Kevin Thelwell, who accused Benik of not trying at Wolves. Hopefully, Benik can move on and see that he is well loves at AFCB already.

Also, well done to keeper Jordan Holmes in signing a new contract until 2018.
