We keep highlighting the quality of Junior Stanislas. Bournemouth may not have got him on the ball enough up at Huddersfield, but when Junior did get left alone he showed a coolness in front of goal that marks him out as a player AFCB have to try and get more games out of.
I don't believe there is a better finisher in Bournemouth's side when you need a quick thinking player. Junior anticipates so well that it becomes second nature to him to find the space and put shots in with accuracy. He didn't need to blast his shot but cooly calculated the positioning of the shot that was all that was required to fool Huddersfield's keeper.
Eddie Howe felt he needed to sub Stanislas in the second half, but in a way it is good that it protected him a bit from having a heavy game. AFCB need him to give that kind of quality against Newcastle and keeping him just right will be a big help to AFCB in the second half of the season.
Junior Stanislas scored his second Premier League goal of the season at Huddersfield. |
Junior Stanislas can make goal scoring look extremely easy when he gets a bit of extra time. He was willing Ryan Fraser to cross the ball in for him having seen Bournemouth go one-nil down, and when the ball did come to his beat he only had one man to beat which he quickly stepped inside of before moving the ball from one foot to the other and picking out the far corner. It was a goal of the highest quality and it deserved to be more important than a single goal in a 4-1 defeat.

I wonder how many goals Junior could score if he had a full season of games for Bournemouth? He only ever gets to be involved in about 15-20 games and yet I'd venture that he would get into double figures most seasons if he was not so unlucky with injuries.Eddie Howe felt he needed to sub Stanislas in the second half, but in a way it is good that it protected him a bit from having a heavy game.
