Let's hear it for the Wee man

Ryan Fraser did it again by scoring the winner against Swansea City. His ability to come up with a great assist or a winning goal is priceless to Eddie Howe and it is no wonder that he has jumped up the pecking order as a regular starter these days.
Ryan Fraser can't get much better can he?
Eddie Howe confirmed that the fee kick that provided the goal against Swansea City was not pre-planned, but owed all its ingenious to what the players cooked up while the referee was remonstrating with the Swansea players to get back 10 yards. It surprised me and perhaps commentator, Kris Temple, who suggested that the ball to play was to Ryan Fraser and that a Swansea player would surely move out to block any attempt. But Ryan had a fairly free shot and he is brave enough to not be put off by an oncoming defender trying to make a late block.

Ryan has scored his highest ever goal tally in the Premier League this season on five and he has also made a very creditable three assists. While Eddie Howe might refer to him as AFCB Eden Hazard, I think Fraser has started to make his own name well known in its own right. But there will be room for improvement next season. Ryan has spoken about how he wants to score more goals and he even stated how he most likes as playing as part of a front three, but is happy to play wide in some games for the team.

Playing at right back though I feel is a harder task for him and while Fraser would no doubt say he was content just ti play it is about time that AFCB brought in more cover for the right back spot so that Fraser was not the player to have to cover when injuries occur to Adam Smith and Simon Francis. It is the unselfish nature and industrial energy that the Wee man puts into games that should never be overlooked - he is one of a kind.

  1. I don't think there is a better crosser of the ball on the move in the Premier League. Fraser is able to modulate his touch with the minimum of backlift.
Watching Chelsea labour against Huddersfield, they continually lacked width, and I couldn't help thinking how they could have benefited from Fraser's subtle wing play !
