There was one team that were willing to leave everything on the pitch in order to get a win at St Marys. AFCB may have found it tough going in the second half, but their resolve was outstanding. All the players fought and chased hard and even though they would have wanted to seal the game earlier than they did. They were fully committed to getting the win to get rid of another stat that has been festering - the inability to win away at St Marys.
Of course, Bournemouth were reliant on their goalscores in the end and Nathan Aké, Callum Wilson and Harry Wilson put away their chances which is another reason why Bournemouth are finally getting the points on the board. The task for Eddie Howe now is to keep that spirit going and to try and keep morale high.
That will mean picking players who can do a job on Burton in the Carabao Cup and rival the players who played at Southampton. It is suddenly a good time to be a Bournemouth player, while a couple of weeks ago it was looking rather scary. The turnaround has been quite amazing, but AFCB can't afford it to be a flash in the pan, If the team can be that good in concentrating on their game against Southampton, then they need to show that kind of determination in other games if they want to keep their place in the top 10.

Confidence is high again for AFCB after the win at Southampton. |
Now the hoodoo has finally fallen and Bournemouth's players can hold their heads up high. They were magnificent and the running power of King and Billing were fundamental reasons why they won the game. Add in the sharp saves of Aaron Ramsdale and the defending of Nathan Aké and Jack Stacey, and for once Bournemouth looked like a team that were organised and galvanised in their single task.

No you won because you were more clinical and we have a very arrogant manager who thinks it's a good idea to play players out of position and exoects to get away with it.
