Cherries' home record improves with 3-1 win over Everton

Match Report
AFC Bournemouth 3 v 1 Everton
15 September 2019
Attendance: 10,416
A first home win for the Cherries.
Bournemouth found their home form with a re-jigged team that finally had them playing on the front foot. Callum Wilson's goals came at good times with an early header to take the lead and the solo goal midway through the second half. They were split by Calvert-Lewin's head goal for Everton just before half-time and an own goal by Fabien Delph (later attributed to Ryan Fraser) early in the second half when Ryan Fraser had put a free kick right in the danger area.

Cherry Chimes talks to Everton fans - Tony, Dave and Gary in a pre-match interview.

It was a fresh looking AFCB got the Everton match. Fraser and Lerma were rested on the bench to give Solanke and Lewis Cook starts for the first time this season. Diego Rico and Jack Stacey also came into the team for Chris Mepham and the injured Adam Smith.

Everton had the first meaningful attack with Sigurdsson crossing for Iwobi whose shot was deflected for a corner. Sigurdsson then had a shot from the right that Ramsdale had to tip over on five minutes.

Lewis Cook started a move with a delightful ball out to King and Billing shot wide from the edge of the box. Free kick taken by Lewis Cook was headed across the box by Steve Cook and volleyed wide by Solanke.

Lewis Cook won a free kick on the left of Everton's box, but Harry Wilson hits a week low drive that Pickford collects.

Richarlison has a shot charged down. Stacey then gave the ball away to Richarlison but Ramsdale saves well and is out quickly on 17 minutes to deny Calvert-Lewin.

Richarlison hits the bar with a long range effort. Bournemouth attack up the left and Solanke hits a drive that is tipped over. Callum Wilson scores with a simple header from the corner on 23 minutes, the ball ran off King at the far post and Wilson beat Aké to the header.

A bit of head volleyball by Billing in the centre ends with Stacey lifting a ball over the top for Callum who chips just over. King wins a free kick off Coleman. Harry Wilson can only hit the wall.

Bournemouth on the break but Solanke plays a poor ball. Dinge gets down the left but Richarlison's dipping header goes wide. Bournemouth play poorly out of defence but Sigurdsson can only shoot over.

Delph finally gets carded for a high tackle on Lewis Cook. Stacey puts a ball back in and Ake has his back to goal and goes close, but Solanke gets the last touch wide.

Callum Wilson pulls a ball back to Billing but its deflected wide. Richarlison goes down the right and Calvert-Lewin makes it 1-1 on 44 minutes with a header into the roof of the net.
1-1 at half-time.
Second half
Great save from Ramsdale in the top right corner from Sigurdsson. Josh King comes in from the left but can't get a shot off.

Bournemouth are playing on the break, it's been a much better start by Everton. The corner is punched clear by Pickford.

Bournemouth sub Harry Wilson for Ryan Fraser on 57 minutes. Harry Wilson just didn't get into the game today. Digne is carded for taking down Fraser.

Steve Cook wins the race with Calvert-Lewin but the pass back is awful and Ramsdale saves his blushes on 64 minutes.

Richarlison is booked for going King. Fraser takes the free kick and Delph has deflected it onto his own net 2-1 to the Cherries! The goal has been given to Ryan Fraser. He put it just inside the far post and whether Delph touched it or not, it has ended up in the back of the net.

Wilson is through but is out paced, corner. Lewis Cook pokes it back for Wilson he's off side. Billing is holding his face but play goes on. Rico pokes the ball past a couple of Everton defenders and Wilson is clean through, its 3-1 and the point are going to Bournemouth.

Calvert-Lewin is subbed by Bernard and Sigurdsson makes way for Kean. Lerma is coming on soon. Lerma replaces Lewis Cook on 76 minutes.

Stacey needs treatment here. Iwobi shoots well for Ramsdale to save and Richarlison puts the rebound wide. Richarlison is subbed for Walcott with nine minutes to go.

Everton have a corner. Bernard puts in a cross and Iwobi goes for the header but clashes with Billing in the air.

Five minutes if added time are given. Wilson almost runs in for his hat-trick but Pickford beats him to the ball. Mepham is on for Rico. Coleman is booked for a foul on King.
Bournemouth take all three points.
Summary
Bournemouth found their swagger in the second half and were helped with some poor defending by Everton. Callum Wilson has shot to the top of Bournemouth's goal scorers and looked hungry for more. It was Lewis Cook and Josh King that impressed me most though of the outfield players while Ramsdale was again steady in goal. This was an encouraging performance and the reshuffle of players certainly worked really well for Eddie Howe.
