Will Tokelo finally spark at home? |
Will Rantie come back into the starting side? |
The likelihood is that Eddie will revert to 4-4-2 with either Tokelo or Brett partnering the in form Lewis Grabban. But who does Eddie pick? It is all about training this week for me. Whoever is looking good will get that spot and Rantie needs to be in goalscoring form to raise his confidence. I am sure he will not have liked sitting out the Reading match and that is good leadership by Eddie who will hopefully have a striker now who is hungry to be back involved in the team. If Josh McQuiod is also coming back into contention we could have him and Brett Pitman on the bench, although Wes Thomas will still want to be involved.
It looks like Cook and Elphick will continue at the back and I can't see a change in the back four. Midfield looks even more congested but Coulibaly is not available this weekend, which is a shame. I would like to see him play at home to get his confidence going and to really go at the teams that are coming to Dean Court. All in good time I expect.
It looks like Nico Yennaris is spending his loan period on the bench. Perhaps AFCB have instructions only to let him train until he gets to know the style of play at the club. It may be that he does not get a go in the first team, even though he played midweek in the friendly. It's a strange one, but the midfield area is very strong now.
What I am liking is that any changes to the team would have to be positive at this stage coming off the back of a good away performance. If AFCB can just get that win against Birmingham they will be sitting much better in the league and would be able celebrate that back-to-back win. I should think that will be drummed into the lads this week. Birmingham are a team that would be very valuable to put away this weekend and I'll be reviewing them in my next post.
Finally, good luck to Shwan Jalal who is said to be training with Bradford City.
