When the names of John Terry And Jermain Defoe keep cropping up with links to AFCB you can't imagine that there is not some interest from the Cherries in the players. But do AFCB now really see the way forward in attracting high-earners coming to the end of their careers?
If Howe is set on adding more established names, then it may mean that we will be losing some of the players that have been at the club a long time like Andrew Surman and Steve Cook, while interest from Spurs in Josh King is at fever pitch. There's certainly space for some new names and while I see more reason to invest in a player like Nathan Ake at his stage in his career, there will be some that speak sense when they point to the record of Jermain Defoe in front of goal.

A swansong for Defoe at a previous club, be it West Ham or Bournemouth would be sensible pickings for him, but John Terry is the kind of outspoken individual that would more than likely seek a bigger club with bigger financial pockets. It will be interesting to see if any of these players do want to join AFCB this summer, but I am certainly in the camp that favours developing the younger players and building that talent at the club.

Even Eddie Howe has not ventured deeper into the old crocks market than adding one very senior player to the squad each season, and I'm doubtful that he would take up two places of his senior squad with both John Terry and Jermain Defoe. While the signings of Sylvain Distin, Marc Wilson and Kenwyne Jones have added varying degrees of experience and strength to the team in recent seasons, the policy at the club has mainly been to buy young potential and aspiring players.
