Realistically, can the Cherries win against QPR?

Eddie wants to add some realism to AFCB fans thoughts of how the Cherries can do in the Championship. Yes, QPR have a budget that is far in excess of Bournemouth's and their squad on the pitch is probably worth considerably more than AFCB's players. They also have an experienced manager in Harry Redknapp, who has won the FA Cup and managed some top Premiership clubs, but does that mean AFCB should wave the white flag before they turn up at Loftus Road? Absolutely, not. Current performance suggest to me that AFCB are due a big win.

Eddie Howe says that, "these are non-pressure games for us." Of course he is right in that AFCB can go to QPR and will know they are underdogs, but the challenge to go to these places and come away with points is what the Championship is all about. Only this Saturday we learnt that Yeovil upset the odds at Vicarage Road to topple Watford. Doncaster also achieved a famous victory against our next opponents, QPR, at the Keepmoat stadium. It can be done and while it is not expected, it is not impossible.

I have been heartened by how close so many of the Championship games are. A moment of quality in either box we know can settle games. AFCB are tightening up at the back and have been letting in fewer goals than they were at the start of the season. Moreover, if you look at QPR's success it is built on letting in the fewest goals - that's where AFCB have to try and get to. AFCB have always had players that can score and when their confidence is up the team's play demands a shooting opportunity on the end of it, because the attacking players get into such good positions.

Just like Cherry Bear, AFCB need a bit of a lift up the table.
Perhaps they will get it at Loftus Raod
If AFCB do come away with a result on Tuesday night, Reading will also have to be on guard. I think AFCB are just a win away from  knocking over a few teams, because we can all see that the confidence is returning at home and at away games there is a real digging in mentality, which nearly resulted in a win at Burnley.

If you forget about the table and the points, but think about how the team is playing. It is realistic to say that AFCB may well fancy shocking someone soon and who better to shock than our old dear old friend Harry Redknapp?

  3. Couldn't agree more. This team will never just roll over and the lessons learned from the Watford, Huddersfield and more recently Derby games are paying off. When you're up the top like QPR you're there to be shot at and as nobody expects us to get anything from tonight what have we got to lose ? Get your tin hat out Harry !!
