AFCB signed Connor Mahoney from Blackburn Rovers on 4th July and he joins the club's U23 squad. The club says a fee still has to be agreed with Connor's former club, but he has signed on a four-year deal. The Lancashire Telegraph reveals that Mahoney was formerly an Accrington Stanley player.
The BBC reports that AFCB beat Nottingham Forest to the signing of the 20-year old. Celtic and Wolves were also in the hunt for the winger, according to the Daily Mail. Mahoney has made 21 appearances for Blackburn since he was 16 and has featured in England U17 and U18 squads.
Eddie Howe said: "AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: “I’m very pleased to welcome Connor to the football club.
"He is a player we have very high hopes for. He has a lot of potential and hopefully it will be a really good deal for both him and us.
"He put in a number of eye-catching appearances for Blackburn in a short space of time at the end of last season, so we quickly evaluated the situation and made a move for him.
"There’s a lot more to come from him and we will look to develop his talent."
