I don't think any Bournemouth fan thought we would have scored just six goals in 10 Premier League games this season. Two more goals than Crystal Palace and less than all the rest is a stunning statistic. The concern after the first few matches was more on keeping goals out, but the scoring for AFCB has hit rock bottom in home games in the last two games and setting up the team to get goals in away games is the priority now.
Bournemouth may well play two strikers up front in some if not all of the November games and so making sure they get plenty of service is going to be the challenge for the team. Against Chelsea there simply wasn't enough service for Jermain Defoe to make anything from, and this week I can only see Eddie Howe working on getting the team to play better in the final third of the pitch.
The attitude that Bournemouth went out with in the Stoke game was just right and it serves as a good template for what AFCB now have to do against Newcastle Utd. But Newcastle have a much better home record and will be a team that try and attack the Cherries from the off. I think this makes it an easier game for Bournemouth than some other matches as Newcastle may well leave gaps that can be exploited and Bournemouth have the fast breaking players with the likes of Fraser, Ibe and Wilson to get the away goals.
What AFCB must be is avoid is being wasteful in front of goal. The goal attempts have remained at seven on the last two games for AFCB and that's okay if you are putting four of five of them on target but the Cherries have not been shooting that well.
