Callum Wilson can now look forward

There was no happier man at Dean Court last Saturday than Callum Wilson. The sheer emotion of finally getting that first Premier League goal of a new season was evident on his face as he celebrated the only goal in a fiercely-contested game against WBA. The goal will restore his belief that he can get his 20 goals at the top level and put him on a path to an England call up.
Yeah, pick that one out of the net!
There is still a long way for Callum Wilson to go before he looks like the fully-established Premier League striker. He is making his way though and will pick up much credit for his skill if he can continue to score such specialist goals as he did against WBA. You don't find many strikers able to score with such deft touches from a fast fed low-cross, but Callum was excellent in holding off Johnny Evans and spinning to back-heel his winner past Ben Foster. It was a moment of high skill and it was enough to win the match and during the game he held the ball up much better than in previous games.

In the past, AFCB have been accused of not having many match-winners but Callum is an out-and-out goal scorer. His quick thinking in front of goal is delicious to watch and if he can start to get a bit of a run on the goal count he could set this Premier League alight for AFCB fans. There was no slowness in Callum's play, he even sped up after scoring his goal and it was evident that the brightness was back in his game.

Now AFCB just need Callum to stay fit and keep feeding him the chances. He thrives on the buzz of putting the ball in the back of the net and AFCB are going to need everyone of his goals. I have had people come up to me and say they are worried for AFCB this season - where are the goals going to come from? Well Callum has already opened his account and there will be plenty more to come from him.
