Hornets and Cherries are treading water in mid-table

Looking back at previous results between Watford and Bournemouth you'll find an awful lot of draws and this game comes at a time when neither team are racing up the league with the amount of goals they are scoring. So a nil-nil draw is not a bad forecast, but both teams need to break their recent run of results which have seen them treading water in mid-table.
AFCB and Watford last season at Dean Court.
Watford's game has certainly dipped at the start of 2017. Their only win has come in the FA Cup against Burton Albion and the Hornets have scored one goal in their last three league games. In away games you have to go back to 3rd December before you'll see Watford scoring an away goal, while their last away win came in October against Middlesbrough.

On the injury front it is noticeable that Isaac Success who tormented AFCB at Vicarage Road has been suffering with a hamstring injury. If he comes on from the bench again though the Cherries will know more about him now. Heurelho Gomes also picked up a back injury against in their last match against Middlesbrough. Nordin Amrabat has also been out with a knee injury.

We may well see on loan Tom Cleverly playing for Watford at Dean Court. He has fallen from grace somewhat in the past year or so, but has several England caps to his name and is looking to rebuild his career. Goals has been a real problem for Watford and Walter Mazzarri has been experimenting with Italian striker Stefano Okaka being preferred to Odion Ighalo of late, who is understood to be a WBA transfer target, while even Troy Deeney has found his place under threat at times.

Mazzarri is probably under more pressure than Howe at the moment, but both managers are not getting the most from their players right now. I can't see anything but a very close contest.
