Eddie Howe's team selection already raised eyebrows when he picked Asmir Begovic ahead of Artur Boruc for the last match, but with more players now coming back to fitness he has a few more decisions to make and stopping goals has to be the priority.
While Howe doesn't have too many options at the back to change, we could see Rico given a start. But Daniels hasn't done much wrong to lose his place. What must be rubbing Howe up the wrong way is to see how well Tyrone Mings is playing at Aston Villa. He's helping them to keep clean sheets and is scoring goals. Was it the right move to let him go out on loan? Chris Mepham has done okay, but he is still learning his trade at this level and found Vardy a bit hot to handle in the last match.
Finally, I feel that Eddie will let Begovic remain in goal or it would like the manager had made a mistake last match by picking him above Boruc. But personally, I'd put Boruc straight back in the team.
Has Begovic done enough to keep his place? |
We have seen Junior Stanislas make an appearance against Leicester and while he is a player that blows hot and cold, his experience at the end of the season could well be an asset that Howe chooses to use now. I say that because Stanislas can always make himself available for free kicks and corner kicks, and in the last game David Brooks looked well short of being up for the game. Does Howe rest one of his best players though?

One player that I'd really like to see come back into the team is Adam Smith. His energy and battling qualities are something that I feel AFCB have lacked. It may still be too soon to see Adam though and Howe will have to work out how he can make the spine of the team a bit more solid than it was in the last match. Burnley will be physical and desperate to keep their good run going. Bournemouth need to show much more fighting spirit if they are not to crumble again, but team selection will be everything for this match. Finally, I feel that Eddie will let Begovic remain in goal or it would like the manager had made a mistake last match by picking him above Boruc.
