If Matt is still out of favour then AFCB really need to get there money back on him soon. |
Matt Tubbs is also going to be on fairly good wages and if he is not one of the players that is moving on then he has to benefit the club in some way whether it is playing for them or going out on loan. AFCB have a squad of strong players now who will be battling for a place again over the summer and while Eddie Howe has a good idea of the ability of who has the best chance of being in pole position for a starting place next season, many things can yet change over the summer months with moves and injuries and failed bids for new targets. If Matt wants to play though I hope he gets a move to a good club as I think he can make the difference to a team that is struggling to score goals.

It's a shame Eddie just hasn't wanted to play Tubbs, more often than not, he's come on as sub and score a vital goal. Tubbs has the knack of being in the right place at the right time, and converting his chances. I personally see Tubbs doing better in The Championship than Pitman. The main argument against Matty, is he lacks speed, yet once again, with Yann alongside feeding Tubbs with knock downs, it could work well.
ReplyDeleteRight back when Eddie first took over, Tubbs was on loan from Salisbury with a vew to a full contract once the window opened. Eddie sent him back and picked up Liam Feeney and Anton Robinson instead. Both did well for us. So did Pitman (in spades!).
DeleteAFCB were desperately short of cash at the time so part of it was a question of resources but I don't think he has ever rated Tubbs.
Lee Bradbury signed a new contract, then he signed Tubbs. Wes Thomas promptly lost form, Tubbs never really got established and Lee was out of a job. As a transfer deal that was down on a par with Millwall signing Josh McQuoid or Burnley signing Gareth O'Connor, everybody lost out.
