It was not until the second half that we saw Dan Gosling come on against Millwall. The change in tactics to putting five in midfield had the desired affect of stopping Millwall getting any momentum while still not changing the amount of attacking play that AFCB could exert on the game.
Dan Gosling added strength to the midfield at Millwall. |
I do feel that the run out against Millwall for him is perhaps a prelude to him playing against Rotherham in the cup at the weekend. We have seen that Dan is a bit of a cup specialist when it comes to scoring goals and it might be profitable to let his experience help guide the team through against the Millers at the New York stadium.
The match against Rotherham will be a test of character and it may well need a special goal to see either team through to the next round. The thoughts of another cup run will be high in the minds of Bournemouth players, because we have all seen what a buzz it gives the club to play against Liverpool and West Brom and if they can progress in the FA Cup it will only add to this memorable season.
With Dan Gosling in the team there is also a feeling amongst the players that AFCB can go on a cup run again, and I believe that such mentality is often important to players even if they don't immediately see it. Good omens are always something that can help carry players and if Dan can bring his shooting boots to the New York stadium, AFCB will be in fine fettle to progress.
