Can Wilson be an England sensation?

It is not every day that a player gets a chance to make his debut in an international. Callum Wilson will perhaps get the chance tonight against USA in a game that has already been overshadowed by the Wayne Rooney recall controversy. Yet, if Wilson has a big performance will the talk be all about Callum Wilson?

Wilson will hope to get his first cap tonight.
The opportunity for Callum is perhaps not quite as normal as he would like. The build up for the game has been quiet this week, but it was far from it last week before AFCB took on Newcastle. Now he has had a chance to train with the England team and they will have seen how quick he is and how much he likes receiving early balls from the byline or to the wings.

I expect England will have to change their style of play to accommodate Wilson. He is not like Harry Kane and while Wilson is excellent at stretching teams, he is supported by some very quick wingers at AFCB. The big test for Callum though is whether he can get himself in front of goal and get the goals to boost his claim for a regular place in the squad.

Strikers are all about scoring and no matter how good Wilson's general play is, he will want to score. the prospect of facing defenders form the USA is a good opportunity, so let's hope that Callum Wilson that is given enough minutes to score a hat-trick on debut.
