Callum Wilson scored his seventh goal of the season and his 50th goal for the Cherries against Manchester United. Everyone is wondering when he will get an England call up and while he can't have done much more to get notice, he just has to keep the goals coming to get to a position where Gareth Southgate simply can't ignore him any longer.
What has perhaps kept Wilson out of a call up is the question of whether he could be more than just an out and out number nine, but I think he has answered that already with his number of assists. So while Kane and Rashford have the national manager's eye at the moment, Wilson will know he is not going to get higher up the pecking order unless he can keep the goals coming.
It must be a bit of a change for Wilson not to have Josh king playing next to him at the moment. That may mean he is getting more space at times, but it is also easy for him to become isolated unless Fraser and Brooks are supporting close by. Wilson doesn't seem to mind coming deep at times and he nearly played in Fraser for the opening goal against Manchester United. I believe he is only just beginning to expand his game though and we may see Wilson become a much better striker for the way in which he has been developing his game to help the team.
Transfer News: Callum Wilson is said to be a January target for Chelsea according to the Daily Mirror. AFCB are also linked with Man City's Lukas Nmecha, a striker, who is on loan at Preston North End and team-mate Callum Robinson, plus Stoke City's Joe Allen.

His finish against Manchester United might well have been offside, even though the assistant referee didn't seem to think so. Sometimes you get that luck and Wilson's runs are getting picked out now, while his confidence just keeps rising. He has a good chance to hit 20 goals this season and if he does that he will surely be knocking on the door of an England call up.
