Championship form table: who should be worried?

Just taking a look at the Championship table with 11 games gone there are some alarm bells already ringing for some teams. If you aren't scoring, you aren't winning games and the teams with the lowest goal returns are Yeovil Town on 6 and Charlton Athletic on 8. That's something for those managers to think about. But the team that hasn't won a game yet is Sheffield Wednesday, although they have managed a surprisingly high six draws. You can see Dave Jones on the Football League show every week trying to stay calm and hoping for lady luck to turn but the problems for the Owls quite possibly run deeper than that.

Of course it is Barnsley that are propping up the table and the stat that really shines out to me in their season is conceding 27 goals from their 11 games. Mr Flitcroft might want to look at that while one point from the last six is certainly relegation form. Yeovil, Charlton and Sheffield Weds are not doing much better.

Those that are turning things around are firstly Bolton with six points from the last six matches and likewise Birmingham City. But there are some who may be getting concerned about their form like Leeds Utd who have had two wins and four defeats in their last six. Blackpool have also become draw specialists having had a defeat and four draws in their last five games. You can put Huddersfield as draw specialists as well.

At the top though Burnley and QPR look unstoppable having both had five wins in their last six games and when they slipped up they still managed draws. Consistency is the problem for most teams and getting on a run of more than three wins in a row seems impossible for all outside the top two. How we would like AFCB to win their next three games!
