Can Ritchie be as good in the Championship?

It won't be long now before we see one of AFCB's prized assets back on the pitch. Matt Ritchie is likely to feature very soon and it will be good to have him back. But can he hit the ground running? And will he be as effective for the Cherries in the Championship as he was in League One? I think we are about to see how good Matt Ritchie really is and I am also confident that he will have a special season.

I bet Matt Ritchie is excited to get back into the action.
It has been said that having Matt back in the team will be like a new signing. The good news is that Matt has been in and around the club for nearly a year now. He knows the players, the playing style and the kind of performances he needs to put in to help the team. He should be raring to go and will be keen to keep hold of the shirt. While Ryan Fraser has played particularly well, I will be pleased to see Matt add another dimension to our team. He may well give Bournemouth that bit more grit and purpose on the right side that will make the team more difficult to beat.

It is only now that I think Eddie Howe will have the players he wanted at the start of the season available to start a game in the Championship. Matt Ritchie's inclusion now adds more quality to AFCB and the timing is good because the two home matches against Derby County and Brighton & Hove Albion have become very important games. The home form has to improve if AFCB are to be successful in the Championship and Matt Ritchie can help getting the Cherries on the front foot.

  1. I can't imagine anyone not being very excited at Matt's return. But he has been out for some while, so I'm not expecting too much straight away, indeed, he may only be on the bench for a while, who knows. All I know is, it's fantastic to even see him wearing the Red n Black again. Then there is the conundrum of where will Eddie play him, who will miss out. Hope Coulibaly is close to being fit as well, even MORE options. Saturday can't come soon enough!!!
