I want to know if some one jinxed AFCB a long time ago when it comes to cup competitions? I could hardly wait for the second round draw of the Capital One draw today. We were bound to get a big team this time surely. All the seeds were in one half and the mighty Cherries were in the other side. Who would it be? A home draw please.
The out pops Watford away as our prize for beating Pompey in the first round. Hmmm! No disrespect to Watford but we are playing them this weekend and the prospect of having to go there again this month is hardly what most AFCB fans would call a plumb draw. Ah, well. It could have been worse. We could have got Bolton away or Wigan, Charlton or West Brom again. Just how many AFCB fans though will dip their hand in their pocket again this month to see an opposition team they have already seen only 17 days earlier is hard to tell but I don't imagine that many, even if the travelling distance is not too bad. As Eddie Howe said: "It's not ideal." Still it is great to hear you on YouTube Eddie.
So we will get to know Vicarage Road very well. Who knows, if both teams play well this season we could meet them again in the play-offs or knowing our luck the FA Cup! I guess both teams will see the draw as a chance to progress but the Hornets must be favourites at home.
Any chance that I could draw the balls out next time?
This is a fan’s personal view of AFC Bournemouth from the outside looking in. It reports on the daily official activities reported by the club and comments made by individual fans on social media and fanbase websites. Life as an AFCB fan is never dull. As a life-long supporter of the Cherries, it is the friendliness of the staff, fans and my enthusiasm for the club that inspired me to write this blog.
